Pier C Park in Hoboken NJ: Beautiful and Recreational
Pier C Park sits along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in Hoboken, New Jersey, as part of the City’s ongoing effort to provide open and recreational space on the waterfront. It’s a short walk from the train or bus station and it’s completely free. It also provides easy access to some schools and favorite eateries of Hoboken.
Its new age arcing walkways add to the beauty of the waterfront with stunning manhattan views (perfect for pictures!). A day out with the family, catching up on a good book, sunbathing or taking a leisurely stroll, this two and a half acre park features recreational opportunities for both the young and the old. Its unique playgrounds, boardwalk, rolling green lawns and a fishing pier are perfect for outdoor fun.
The playground boasts activities for kids of all ages. It focuses on safety with separate play areas for the little and big. Its structures for climbing and hiding, tunnel slides, rockers, spinners, sand play and water play bring fun and variety to its space.
A continuous tricycle path also loops through the interior of the play area and a park building is situated such that an employee can easily dispense toys to children.
The park encourages users to experience waterfront wildlife opportunities, including the use of a planting scheme that strongly favors coastal species and the construction of a roosting structure for nesting osprey. The park, funded by the City, the Port Authority and the State’s’ Green Acres Fund, is part of a 20 acre initiative to create new recreational and open space throughout the City.
